Seeing Wellness from the Inside Out
In 20 years of shooting, I had never worked with tomatoes or tomato extract. When Lycored handed me the creative license to explore their wellness extracts — Lumenato and Lycomato, shipped in small vials directly from Israel — I had no idea what to expect. That was exactly the point. These aren't ordinary ingredients. Rich, viscous, and strikingly color-saturated, they reacted to oils, temperatures, and surfaces in ways I couldn't predict or control. I worked with palette knives, acrylic blocks, and the heat of a 92-degree summer day — and at some point, I stopped trying to direct the outcome and simply let the extracts lead. That surrender shows up in the work. Colors bleed beyond every boundary. Elements refuse to stay contained. It's the most unpredictable visual territory I've ever shot — and some of the most alive.
They produce plant-based, vegan-friendly, and highly stable colorants sourced from tomatoes and fungi to replace artificial dyes in food, beverages, and gummies.
